Retreats Affected by COVID-19

IRC is taking extra precautions in light of the coronavirus outbreak, closely following the development of this situation, and taking the measures needed to protect our communities.

To support efforts to prevent or slow down the spread of the COVID-19 virus, IRC has cancelled retreats through the end of May, in some cases piloting some online alternatives. Lotteries for future retreats will not be run until we are certain we can offer a retreat. We will continue to consider with care whether future retreats planned at IRC may need to be canceled, based upon public health officials’ advice about public gatherings.  If you are registered for future retreats, please check your email regularly.

We can embody wisdom in our practical lives as well as our spiritual lives in the current circumstances.  Hearing “coronavirus,” perhaps you could think “karunavirus,” and spread compassion in the ways you protect yourself, as that is also the way we protect each other.  Please consider how to provide the highest degree of safety for your own immune system and that of others whose immune function may be weaker than yours. Take appropriate health measures, recognizing that fear may be offset by whatever degree of equanimity is possible in this moment.
