General Laundry Instructions

• LAUNDRY INSTRUCTIONS:  Posted in Laundry Room   Folding & Stocking Instructions
  1. Whites use hot water, colors warm. 
     1. “Customized” is the setting for color (we changed it)
     2. Whites: use Speed Wash  (hot)
     3. Colors: Press Custom.    (warm)
• Laundry Service:   Laundry Care Express   Yearly.  $1.49/lb.  Pick up and Delivery.  Need to bag the blankets.
• Clothesline:  Outside garage & inside Laundry Room

Equipment

• 2 Washers:  Installed  2/3/14.   Model: LG WM8000HWA      MANUAL      Washer Controls
• 2 Dryers:  Installed 2/13/14.       Model: LG DLGX8001W
  • 11/7/18  new lint filter ordered
• Laundry pedestals (we have 4 of them).   Model: LG WDP5W
• Exhaust fan for dryers (pre-existing from Mansion). Fantech Model FX8XL (8″ duct fan). Serial# 650953  Part# 003032 
  • Duct Pressure Sensing Switch – Fantech DB10  Duct Airstat, Installed in behind crawl space door.  It automatically turns dryer fan on and off as needed.   MANUAL  DB10
    • Old on/off switch was where blank plate is to lower right corner of crawl space door.
  • Check Dryer exhaust monthly: Turn dryer on for a minute, turn off, open door, verify air flowing from lint filter.
• Water Hammer Arrestors installed 1/5/19. 2 for each washer (hot & cold lines).  It stopped the hammering noise & the banging of the lines.

• 5 year warranty from Best Buy began 2/3/14, ends 2/3/19.  5 yr warranty Washer Dryer

Guidelines

• Front loaders are prone to smells and mold.  The following is essential prevention:
  • Keep doors open after wash.
  • Use a little less than the recommended amount of soap.

Maintenance

Washer

• Cleaning the washtub (to be done monthly)
• Cleaning the dispenser
• Cleaning the water inlet filters (only if error is displayed)
• Cleaning the drain pump filter

Dryer Vent

• The dryer vent is a long duct that runs through the wall behind the dryers into the crawl space and out towards the back of the house.  There is a fan on the end of the duct that pulls air from the dryer and exhausts it outside below the back deck.
• The dryer vent should be checked every 6 months and cleaned if needed.  It is cleaned using the cleaning brush that is attached to a wire that runs the length of the vent.

• Booster Fan:  (every few months) verify air keeps flowing through the dryer lint filter opening for a minute after the dryer is off.
  • run the dryer for 1 minute, open the door & put your hand where the lint filter is and feel for air movement

Old Equipment:

  • 2/23/14 – warranty on old washers/dryers expired.  Washers/Dryers replaced.  Sears:  800-469-4663.Use 831-430-9198.
